A Quick Hello in Canggu
We stopped a group of guys in Canggu for a quick chat. Turns out they had only been in Bali for 18 hours.
Not days. Not weeks. Just 18 hours.
As one of them said, “We’ve only been here 18 hours.”
And somehow, that was already enough.
“Canggu is the best, bro.”
One of them didn’t hesitate.
Straight away, he said, “Canggu is the best, bro.”
No overthinking. No comparisons.
Just pure, immediate reaction.
For locals, this might feel surprising but for someone seeing Bali for the first time, the energy hits fast.
From Wales to Perth… to Bali
They shared a bit about where they’re from.
Wales. Living in Perth. Now in Canggu.
It’s a familiar route.
But what stands out isn’t where they came from it’s how quickly Bali starts to feel exciting, even overwhelming.
The Reality Check: Bali Heat
Then came the honest part.
One of them admitted, “It’s pretty hot… I might pass out.”
You could feel it half joking, half serious.
For many visitors, this is one of the first real experiences of Bali.
Not the beaches. Not the cafes.
But the heat.
First Party, First Chaos
They also shared something unexpected.
“That was my first party ever.”
And already, it felt like a lot.
The energy, the people, the noise everything at once.
It’s funny, but also real.
Bali doesn’t slowly introduce itself. It just… happens.
In Just 18 Hours
In less than a day, they experienced:
Excitement
Culture shock
Physical exhaustion
And genuine enjoyment
All within 18 hours.
That mix is what makes Bali unique.
It’s not always comfortable. But it’s always memorable.
