From South Australia to Bali. Why They Keep Coming Back

This blog is based on the youtube post - Is Bali Just Cheap Souvenirs & Parties? "Street Interview"

Sometimes the most memorable Bali stories are not about luxury resorts or perfect travel plans.

They’re about simple moments: walking around together under the heat, joking with strangers, looking for rental bikes, discovering a favorite bar, and slowly finding a place that starts to feel familiar.

In this street interview, we met a group of visitors from South Australia during their second trip to Bali. What stood out wasn’t just the places they mentioned, it was how naturally Bali had become part of their memories.

At first, they laughed about the heat.

“The heat… it’s hot.”
But then they compared it to Australia and realized something interesting: Bali’s weather felt different, more humid, yet somehow still enjoyable for them.

What makes conversations like this interesting is how different people experience Bali differently.

Some visitors come for peaceful beaches. Some come for adventure. Some come for nightlife, food, or family time.

For this group, Seminyak became their favorite area because of the atmosphere.

“There’s a bit more hustle and bustle… a bit more music and bars.”

And somehow, a place called Frankie’s Bar and Grill became one of their most memorable Bali experiences.

Not because it was famous worldwide. Not because it was luxury.

But because memories are often built from small moments shared with people we travel with.

That’s what makes Bali unique.

Two people can visit the exact same island and leave with completely different stories.

Some people fall in love with quiet mornings in Sanur. Some remember scooter rides through villages. Others remember fish markets, beach sunsets, conversations with locals, or simply how different life feels here compared to home.

And maybe that’s why so many people keep returning.

Not because Bali is perfect. But because Bali gives people space to experience life differently.

For people in Bali reading this, it’s also a reminder that the island many locals see every day can still feel magical to someone visiting from far away.

A beach that feels ordinary to locals may become someone’s favorite memory for years.

A simple grilled fish dinner, a walk by the beach, or even the warm humid air can become part of somebody’s story.

And that’s why Bali really is for everyone.

Not just surfers. Not just influencers. Not just luxury travelers.

But families, older travelers, quiet travelers, adventurous travelers, and even people simply looking for a different feeling from everyday life.

“There’s lots of memorable moments.”
“They do the best cocktails.”
“There’s a bit more hustle and bustle… a bit more music and bars.”
“Sanur is quite good.”
“The sun’s hotter in Australia… it’s more humid here.”
